Frankenstein Bolts

I'm new to this so I'm trying to learn the jargon. What are Frankenstein bolts and what is their purpose? I know they are associated with sleeve hitches but that's it.
Thanks for your help.

They are used to hold the top casting in place on the rear lift. Part #1 in parts lookup.

Okay, got it, now what are the two bolts with jam nuts that I see on every version of a sleeve hitch? These are the bolts that are on each side of the tube for the hitch pin. What is their purpose? Thanks again.
Dave

They are used to adjust how far implements are allowed to sway side to side or to prevent them from swaying at all.
