782 with a QA36A

It works good at first but after a while the muffler heats the chute up and it starts plugging up. Is there any ways to stop this? Is there any way I can make the thrower work better?

There was a Muffler "deflector" that was bolted to the outlet that deflected the hot exhaust downward. The deflector is NLA, so one would have to improvise.

exhaust deflector?

What does the "deflector" look like? Can't find any reference,or illustrations.

You could always bend a piece of exhaust tubing and slip it over the end of the muffler outlet and bend the tubing away from the front of the tractor.

Ditto. I've seen guys do this before and it worked good.

I've never used that exhaust deflector and not had problems with it clogging...I think something else is wrong. Is the inside of the chute rust-free and smooth?
