1641 and H-48 Snowblower question...
Hello all,
I have a 1641 and a Haban 48" snowblower I got from a used garden tractor dealer around here. It is the one with the manual lift handle, not hydraulic linkage arm. What I would like to know is, is it possible to connect this to the hydraulics on this tractor? I thought of mounting a small winch to raise and lower it, but it seems like a pain to find a place to mount one. And I just read this post http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=21534 which shows that the exterior deck level indicator can actually come off and be replaced with an adapter as an outside arm?! Do I have that right? I used the tractor today with the snowblower attached, and aside from shearing a couple of pins, it works fair enough. To tell the truth I don't have many other choices, I have to maintain our driveway and I don't have a truck with a plow. Any ideas or leads would be great. |

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply, I had to find the camera and get some pics. Also I was getting more acquainted with how the snowblower would work, fortunately we have plenty of snow right now to work out the kinks. Anyway, here are three photos. One with the unit on the tractor. Another with a close up of the connecting point, but the lift arm unconnected. The third is what a link bar would look like attached to the lift that raises the plow if it did attach to the hydraulics. (clear as mud?) Anyway, maybe if I sent these pictures to xtrememotorworks it would make perfect sense to them. I just wanted to use the onboard hydraulics. The connecting rod in the picture can't be used because the other end is welded to some goofy modification that came with the blower. I don't imagine a length of chain would work? or I could find another rod.
Now I need to get some weight on this tractor too since it is much to light in the back now. Additionally, I thought it would be helpful for any other 1641 owners to know these old blowers work with these tractors. All I changed was the pulley belt to a 38" one. I couldn't find anything on the internet showing their compatibility, and the guy who sold it to me said "sure it'll fit no problem". Well, I took him at his word and it actually worked out. Thanks for any help again... |
Looks like you will need something like what Clyde67 made for the plow on his 1641.
http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...t=21534&page=2 Get in touch with Clyde and he may be able to hook you up with what you need. I know he had to have it made. |
