Suggestions for tires
I've always had Turf Saver tires on my cub, and with my 149 project, I'm thinking about Ag treads. I would go with the 24-10.5-12s for the rear (Tru power or similar) but not sure what to put on front. The 149 currently has the narrow wheels (my 108 has wide front wheels). I think I'd like wide wheels and tires for the front of the 149. What size would you suggest would look right with the 24-10.50's on the back? What are you guys running?
BTW, as I work through my 149, I've been able to find all sorts of help on this forum. It's an incredible source. Thanks to all who contribute. |
I like the wider 16x6.50-8 if your running 10.50 on the back. The V61 is a great choice.

I was looking for ag style tires on the front.

Oh, you want ags all the way around. I've never run them on the front but the deestones are reasonably priced and the ones I run the the back of my 123 are good tires.

Sawdusted, I don't think you will find much of any tire in the 24x10.5x12 size. That was an oddball size used on the 3000 series. The 23x10.5x12 is a common tire on a lot of tractors. Miller Tire is a great place for tires and they have the Firestone Floatations made only for them so nobody else will have them. Their shipping charges are high IMHO. I'm with Ben, I think the V61's are the best looking front tire you can get. AG's should be turned backwards on the front for steering if a machine is not 4 wheel drive.
