In search of snow
 

Since it's been approx. 3 weeks since I've run or done anything with the 147, I figured today would be a good day to get it started, warmed up, and do a little drive around; let it "stretch it's legs". No snow in sight- 60 degree temps + 3 days of rain eliminated the 6 inches that was on the ground from the late December snowfall. Started right up and ran great despite it being 20 degrees out. (Sunday- 60. Monday- 20. Go figure.) Video starts after I've already got it out of the garage.

Yeah, I know it's not any snow action shots, but it's something. Coming from a family that never runs a Cadet between october and april it still baffles me how well mine continues to perform even in the winter months.

I started my 104 yesterday to let it warm up since its been a few weeks.Started right off as usual :) Im praying for lots of snow !

I took the day, seeing as it was nearly 50F out, to do a ghetto restore on the chute to my snow thrower (and inside the collar of the snow thrower). Just sanded, primed, and painted. Last time I had tried to use it the snow kept getting clogged in the chute, so hopefully this will help out (the chute was as rusty as the rest of the snow thrower). I'll restore the rest of it if this fix works, if not I might be taking a look into the engine/PTO. Unfortunately I gotta wait for more snow to figure that out--though I think we have some coming next week here.

I had to slog through a little more snow than you did though, your yard is clean! You and your 147 are surely ready for snow though with that plow!:IH Trusted Hand:

I hear you on the search for snow. After rebuilding the PTO on my snowthrower 149 last week I had to drive all over the neighborhood to find some snow to test it in. While getting a break on keeping the house warm is nice, this winter has been quite a disappointment so far. I nearly got stuck in mud moving firewood to the back yard yesterday.

Hate to say it, but my mind keeps wondering that mild winters of little to no snow are going to become commonplace as we continue to grow older. :Cry1:

I actually like snow & cold; it makes me nervous when mother nature does without it. Plus the snow helps our Great Lakes.

Yeah I don't mind the cold either. I prefer it to include some snow, though, if it is going to be cold. These past few winters have been extremely mild...though your cold day today Dan seems to be coming my way tomorrow; they're calling for snow already on Wednesday (which is pretty crazy considering today was mid 50s and right now after the sun's gone down it's still 40F out). Crazy weather! Like others have said, seems to be almost commonplace now.

that aint ghetto painting at its finest. if you gonna do it right ya have to sand and paint it while its still on the blower and tractor. and only paint the inside. :beerchug:
