129 snowblower
 

Hi All
I am new to the board and to the "older" cub scene.

I bought a 1975 129 off a friend with a rototiller and other gardening attachments for what else garden use. Wanting to get a snowblower for it now. Here are my questions.......
What model blowers fit this tractor? Is this considered a "narrow frame" cub?
Is a 2 stage better then a single stage?
Any input from anyone is greatly appreciated, as I said new to all this.

Also have a LT1554 would this be easier or better to put a blower on?
The 129 is a awesome tractor and impressed every time i use it and know it will out last the LT

The 129 is a Wide Frame (WF) tractor.

The snow removal equipment that was designed for this model was, the QA36A or QA42A snowthrower.

as long as the snow is dry it'll chuck it 30' in the air. I have one. its a nice thrower.

A double stage is better in my opinion ,but when a single stage is set up properly I think they are just as good IMHO. The 42" should work fine with a 12 HP...I have a 104 with the 36" an its great with mine...

Here is some information that may help you......... Snow equipment

The snow throwers (I have a 42" on a 1250, dunno if the 36 works better in wet snow) will work fine unless it's really wet heavy snow. You can also find a plow (42" or 54") that would work on your 129 if you are in an area where you generally get wet, heavy snow. Both are pretty common attachments on craigslist and I believe there are some listed in the For Sale section as well.

martyrant i have a plow i was hoping to do less damage to my yard with a thrower lol i live in central PA so the snow can go ether way no lakes so i would guess we gey a dryer snow most of the time but the last one was pretty wet till i got to move it.
not looking to move a foot of wet snow but one never knows
i did find 2 42's one complete the other the best i can tell the rod to turn the shoot is missing and the gear slips at times also looks like it may have had a few big stones go through it the other is nice shape auger few bends but not rusted up to bad guys looking to get 400 for the pair does that seem fair? seen them for more and less ...

From what I've seen blower with bad gears/ missing parts are 50-75 each. A good one will go for 200-300 depending on condition of paint/auger

so i guess it's in the eye of the beholder huh... like i said the one you can tell a few decent size stones or something went through the other he claiming he used the edges of the auger have a few dents and bends nothing hard to strighten minor surface rust
