deck swap question
 

I'm wanting to see if I can swap the deck from the 1864 has the 48" 317 deck to the early 782. Not sure what if anything I need to swap out on it.

Pretty sure you will need to also swap the PTO due to the pulley size.

Probably would have to swap the front axle too...those newer decks are really tall compared to the older ones.

I think there would be a lot of mods just to get the hangers to work right with it. Why do you want to swap? In some ways I miss the old shallow decks, much lighter, less buildup in them.

The reason for the swap would be to mount the Kwik-Way to the 1864 and use the 782 as my weekly mower. The power steering would be so nice to have on a loader tractor.
