Cab curtain windows frosted
 

Are there replacement side curtains available for the IH cab on my 1450? The vinyl windows on my cab are frosted very badly. At the end of my driveway I have to turn around in the street and would like a little better visibility as I’m sure you can understand why. It seems like the curtains/doors have shrunk a little as well so If I’d like to replace both doors as opposed to replacing only the vinyl windows. :bigthink:

I would check with someone that does boat covers.

do you have a auto buffing wheel. and rubbing compound.

Boat cover shop sounds like a great idea. Living near Lake Michigan should produce several to choose from. I would have tried the rubbing compound idea but one of the windows has been torn so replacement is what I'm looking for. Thanks for the ideas.

have to do the same thing on my 982 cab they are brittle & foggy :angry: time to find a bout shop that doesnt want to become a millionar !!! :biggrin2:

You can order the material from sailrite.com. It's called vinyl window material, one quality brand is strataglass. You want min 30 mil, 40 mil is even better. Any boat canvas shop can replace the windows for you, or you can do it if you have a heavy duty (walking foot preferred) sewing machine. Sew the new window on, then cut the old window material out. That way, you don't lose the shape and handling the material is easier with the old window still in place.

You can also try a shop that does convertible tops for cars.

I had an upholstery man tell me that he could do it whenever I wanted to, but they are getting harder to find these days.

Living near Lake MI I bet you get your fare share of lake effect snow as well.

I found nice thick clear vinyl at the sewing stores in upholstery

harbor freight sells a $7 sewing awl for upholstery thick thread etc that works well (might need 2 persons, 1 on either side )

do it yourself and save time and $$$
