Hi Folks,
I have been researching these so much that my arm is going fall off. (switching arms to move the mouse now..) Anyway, I was hoping I could get some adviice choosing.. Purpose: Starting a somewhat large garden. No lawn mowing! snowthrower would be handy.. What I am considering: (whats for sale locally at the moment) 1811 - comes with snowthrower, tiller, wheel weights and chains, manuals $1500 1450 - "3point hitch" and moldboard plow $1000 Also considering: Deere 318 - Ag tires, snowthrower nice shape $1300 Deere 214 - Ag tires, tiller Needs brakes and tlc $675 Wheelhorse 529h Comes with factory 46" 2 stage snowblower, 48" mower deck, 38" roto tiller, moldboard plow, cultivator, discs wheel weights and chains. Wants $2500, but will sell implements fot $1000 (could probably afford the implements, but $2500 is out of my budget) I'm kind of overwhelmed... any help or advice would be awesome!!! Thanks!!!!! |
:Welcome2:
Myself being Cubcrazy I would lean towards the 1450 or 1811!:biggrin2: Got any pics? |
I myself would prolly look into the 1811. I for sure would try to beat him down on the asking price. I realize you are in Canada and prices are a little bit higher but 1500$ is a little on the steep side. Oh and by the way welcome to OCC.

Ah.....forget the JD's...........:biggrin2:
I have both of those models (1450 & 784). I like both. The major difference is the engine. It comes down to a single cylinder Kohler in the 1450 or a twin cylinder Kohler in the 1811. You will have to decide your desire and preference. |
The 1811 sounds like what your looking for.... If it has the tiller the only thing needed for a moldboard is a sleeve adapter. It's hard to say on the price without pics, but I would try to get it for less.

1811 looks good along with the attachments. I'd offer about 1100 or 1200 you would probably get it. Welcome to OCC.

Welcome to OCC! I have to agree, I'd also go for the 1811.

First of all:
:Welcome2:! I too would pick one of the cubs. I'm leaning towards the 1811. Has the tiller and thrower with it as well as a set of weights. See if you can get the seller down some on the price. Good luck and keep us posted! |
