new to me 1872 in parts,
Just made a deal for a 1872 off of CL just 60 miles from me:beerchug:. P O rebuilt the engine and never put it back in the tractor:bash2:. I will have to install carb on engine and then put it back in tractor. I hope all the parts are there.looking in the box of small stuff I think its all there. all the large parts were accounted for.
this tractor has a 60 inch haban deck that is missing one front gauge wheel assembly and needs new belts. also the top of the spindle where the power steering cylinder attaches is broken off, so a new one is needed. I would like to find a service manual for a 1872 but did not see it in the tech section. will be picking it up in about a week and will have pics of it then:biggrin2::biggrin2: |
Congrats on the score!:beerchug:
Can't wait to see the pics! |

I believe you can find the manual here with the model number and serial number from the tractor plate: http://manuals.mtdproducts.com/mtd/P...randCode=10051

I don't think you will get any service manuals there. Here are some good ones for you. You need the 82 series one.

If you are not familiar with these tractors, be pepared to be amazed at what it can do once you get it running. My 1872 is now the love of my life. I would like the 60'' deck, but it does have the 54" and the 54" dozer blade. This thing is a beast. I've even taken it out into the woods to blaze a trail and simply drove over 4" and 5" trees. Want to move some dirt? Add weight and chains and have a ball, I love it.
