The ORIGINAL Family Effort!
4 Attachment(s)
These Cubs are starting to turn into a family affair! :biggrin2:
My brother got me into them a few years ago and now my older son and i are pulling our Original. My younger son has shown some interest (and has driven the "O" around a little bit). He also said he'd work on one with me, if we had one. Well, turn out that I found another Original and it's only 1,100 miles away. But, it's right down the road from my sister, so, I bought it and she went to pick it up with her hubby tonight. She sent me some pictures but that's all I've got right now until my brother (who happens to be headed up there with a trailer for his job) will be able to bring it down in about a week. He lives about 5 miles from me and will bring it down to FL when he heads home. It's going to take some work but most of the parts are there that I'll need. The PO said that he got it from the original owner who bought it new. He hadn't had a chance to get it running but it does spin over but doesn't have spark. It could be something as simple as the points or ? It'll have to wait until it gets home to figure that one out. There's some real "craftsmanship" on this one but, I think that if we can get it running, we'll clean it up, tear it down and give it a quick shade of yellow and cream. I'm working on a set of clam-shell fenders for it and I'm thinking about making it a narrow front end. Should be pretty cool, don't you think? I've already got a puller, so this one would be more of a driver/show tractor. Although, I typically don't do spit and polish restorations. This one will still have to earn its keep from time to time. Main thing is that it'll give me and the younger son something to work on together. That'll be fun. Here's the pix until the ol' girl finds her way home. |

Thanks guys!
From what I can tell, it's mostly all there, except for those few areas that have been "bubba'd" :bash2: Sis gave me the numbers on the frame and it indicates that she was built in May of '62, about three months before my other one came down the line. Looking forward to getting her home so I can start progress! First will be to see if she runs..... :NailBite: |
That's awesome Andy. I'm officially jealous. 2 O's! There's one between where me and you live that has a bad and is yard art that the guy won't sell because he said its his grandsons but it's been rusting in their front yard for a long time. I think its time for a group effort. :biggrin2: nice job on that one though, what state is it coming from?

It's actually a bit of a surprise for Austyn. He's been sitting on the original "Original" and I asked him at the show if we found one, if he would work on it with me. He SAID yes. He still doesn't know that it's on its way down here. I'm trying to keep it a surprise for him. :biggrin2: I think he'll like it. At least, when we get it finished he will. where is that other one that you're speaking about? May have to do a recon-run. :bigthink: |
Spoke with Bro.
