Question, since my motor is out? PTO?
 

Getting ready to put my motor back in my # 109. But since its out I'm thinking about re-building the PTO? Thinking it would be easier?
But, does it need to be?

My question; how does one check to find this out?

Well, if you look at it this way, do it now while it is super easy to get too and probably never have to do it again. :beerchug:

you pretty much have to take the hood/front nose off the tractor to get at it decent so with the shiny new paint you're giving it id take a look at it now rather than later.

If i didnt As luck would have it , I'd be cutting grass & 1hr. Later it would wobble.

This should help you out a lot. It is not really a difficult job, just a little time consuming.
One thing to help is spray some PB Blaster into the set screw holes. You can only do one at a time with the hole up at the 12 o'clock position. Then I used a .22 caliber bore brush in my drill to clean the threads out real good before I tried to remove the set screws. Also there are two sets of screws. Top lock screws and the pointed retaining screws underneath of the top ones.
Go ahead and replace the PTO bearing on the crankshaft end.

With those you tube links, I think I can do that. I just got done soaking those Allen screws in anticipation of hitting it this week.
