Cub snowthrower for 1650?

I've never used a snowthrower on a tractor before but saw one I wanted to buy on craigslist but not sure if its compatible with my 1650?

NO, that is a Haban (RE: Boat Anchor) thrower for a LAWN TRACTOR!!

You have a real bonfide GARDEN TRACTOR and a great one at that

You need to be looking for a QA36 or a QA42 thrower.
You can tell them at a glance by the right angle gear box aon driveshaft that is mounted on the left side. the only belt oinvolved is a short one from the front PTO to the drive sheave on the end of the gearbox.

Any more ??'s ask away, I just put one on my 1650 back in Dec and it has had quite a workout so far.

Get on the Cub Cadet site and download the QA36 and QA42 manual. lots of info and pictures so you will know what you are looking at.

Your 1650 got front hydraulics??

Good luck!!

The ad says it is an H48 and it should fit your 1650.

The H48 will fit your 1650 if it has the pulleys for the narrow belt. The H48 was the blower sold for on the 982s so most were set up for the 5/8 wide belt.

I stand corrected!!
If there had been pictures of the rear of it I would have known!
Again...Sorry about that.

The one in that ad looks from the front every bit like ths unit I have here and there is no way that it is gonna work on my 1650. It has a mile long belt and more pulleys and joints than I can count!!! ha ha!:biggrin2:

The Haban H-48 was introduced in the late '70's and early 80's as a snow thrower for the IH Cub Cadet 82 Series. It would work on any Cub Cadet W/F tractor but one would have to change the Drive Belt & Drive Pulley from 5/8" t0 1/2".

Thanks guys for the input. Im passing on this one was just curious.

P.S. I don't have front hydraulics but I saw entire kit on ebay for it for $100. Is it a hard conversion to do?

Thanks,
Nate
