A k-321
A K-321 is a 14hp right? Well how much is a engine out of a 147 worth, the tractors been sitting the past 20 years. I wanted to put the 14 horse kohler in my 100R if i can get it cheap.
|
You are correct. A K321 is a 14HP Kohler. However, it won't fit a a Cub 100 without modification of the frame. See the frame of a 147.
|
Yeah, i know i have to notch the frame and put the drive hub and clutch. Anything else could be in the way.

Unless you are going to run a mower, my experience is that these tractors do not benefit from more than 10HP.
I specifically went looking for 10HP for my blade tractor. http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...009640x426.jpg I just read another post where a guy was slipping the clutch in second gear with 10HP pulling a plow. I push snow in third gear with the 48" blade shown above, no lack of power with 10HP. The clutch is mighty tiny, if you have loose soil traction that stops the tires from spinning. Hydros' need more than 10HP, but for non-mowing, the lack of vibration with the 10HP is a great advantage. IMHO |
I do alot of moldboard plowing and heavy grass mowing. So i need more power.

If you have the original 10hp you can swap the 10hp bearing plate, shroud, flywheel, etc and it will drop right in.
