AG tire question

Hey everybody, I would like to buy some Ags for my 149. I have been looking and Greater Cleveland Tire seems to have the best prices I have found by far. My question is, Does anybody know what the difference between 23x10.50-12 BKT Trencher and the same size Deestone Super Lug? They are both 6 ply but the BKT are 71$ a piece and Deestone are 59$. thanks for any input, Mark

Also, I'm switching from turf savers. Will the Ags rip my yard up? I ride it around tons just for fun and don't want the wife mad!!

My guess on the difference in price is where they are made. The question on tearing up your yard is yes and no. If you spin or attempt to spin the tires yes they will tear turf and dig holes. In really soft ground you may leave tracks but mowing in such places will leave tracks no matter what tread you have.

Not sure what the diff. between the two is. But I have a set of 26x12x12 Deestones on my 1282 that I bought from them and love them. They wont tear up your yard. Just an FYI, I see your in PA, not sure where your at but I drove over and picked up my tires from him and he cut the price down and no shipping. Granted I picked up 4 of the 26x12x12's and a set of tri ribs and a set of small ags while I was there but I ended up saving about 100 bucks that way. I'm sure you would be happy with either tire.

For the purpose of a garden tractor (where tire failure seldom results in a fatality) I think I'd go for the Deestones. I paid extra for a pair of Carlisle Tru powers on my 149, and then opted for a pair of Deestones for my 72. I'm no expert, and can't really tell the difference.

Besides price and the deestones being smaller they both work well. I prefer the tru powers.:drool2:

Both tires are 10.50's I'll let you figure out which are the deestone.

That sure makes the difference stand out. But one tire is worn the other is new. I DO like the tru powers, too.

Worn it's 2 years old. It's called dirt.:biggrin2:

im all for the Tru powers.

Deestones are a smaller tire. Same number size wise but physical definintly smaller. I had a set of 12x10.5 of tru power and deestones and the deestones where at lease an 1.5 shorter and narrower then the tru power. Plus the dees where 6 ply.
I go with quad tires know. Much cheaper !
