i know its not tractor related at alll but heres a picture of a truck i might be getting... It is a 1968 Chevrolet custom 10 all original with the standard chevy 350 5.0L

Looks to be a '69 or later by the hood. Also, the 350 is a 5.7. 305 is a 5.0. I've got a '71 GMC with a '68 front clip because I liked the slant hood and no trim pieces around the grill better.

Yea, it is '69 or later. I had a baby blue 68. 305 with Powerglide.

There is no 350 5.0 maybe it originally had a 5.0 and someone replaced it with a 5.7. It's impossible to be 5.0L and 350 ci. Built many SBC over the last few years. It was ky hobby before I got into cubs. Now if you really want to mess with people go hunt down a 302 Chevy but expect to pay when ya find one

Use high school math to convert 5.0 liters to cubic inches, you will find the explain that. :bigthink:

61.023 cubic inches in 1 Litre. 61.023 X 5.7 = 347.8311 CI

61.023 X 5.0 = 305.115 CI

Of course that's approximately, the liters are rounded.

As said perhaps it's the transmission that's a 350? :bigthink:

If it was original a 1968 5.0 would have been a 307, but that truck is not a 1968. Besides the hood and grill differences it has side molding that a 1968 wouldn't. There's differences in the interior you could tell by also.

Powerglides are cool. Was this the factory tranny? My buddies dad has a '68 with a powerglide and you can't even tell when it shifts. It's crazy. This truck also runs mid 12s in the quarter.

I am betting that it has a build date thats late 68, usually anything past Oct back then was the next model year.

The front end is from a 69 through 70 model, and they didn't use the term 5.0 liter back then.

V8's available then were 283, 307, 327, 350 started in 69 and a 396 big block.
