317 deck parts or repair

The gage wheel bracket on my 1863's 317190 deck has been damaged and repaired, but is hanging out a few inches past the deck. This only invites more damage. I looked for a parts drawing but all I found showed a different type wheel on the chute side. The pin is bent and twisted and the arm is also twisted. I would like to repair these parts if possible. Recommendations?

The Cub Parts site shows your deck.

I saw that one but was not able to make the chute side parts look like mine. Would #36 from the left side work on the right?

It calls for 2 of item number 36 so I'd say yes it will work on the right side

# 50 Spindle Assy, RH Front You may be able to straighten yours
Part Number:603-0110

# 36 Castor Assy, Front To me this looks more like an arm but they call it a caster
Part Number:703-2094

I have a 48" deck that was bent up a little worse than yours. I got everthing straightened back where it belonged and re-welded some crappy welding in about an hours time.

I used a acetylene torch, stick welder, vice, pipe wrench. It's not hard to do if you have those tools. If you don't, I'd hate to have to buy that stuff new.

703-2094 looks like it is about $44.00

I got the parts reasonably straight using a pipe wrench, vise and 3 foot bar. Two welds broke on the arm when I untwisted it but I dobbed some more on. The shaft had a twist that I reduced by rotating the end with a pipe wrench then filing the marks out. Got some more bushings for the arm. I hope to get finished today and get the deck on.

I've got it back together. I have at least reduced the "sore thumb" look of the arm and wheel. I intended to take the deck apart, repair and paint it this winter but maybe next year.
