1860 electric clutch problems

After taking 4 years to rebuild my cub I was ready to mow Saturday and when I engage the clutch the mower starts but when I release the switch to it on position the mower stops. Any ideas? Thanks Leon

It could be: (A) A seat switch, (B) the reverse switch, or (C) reverse relay.

Will this let it start but not continue to run and what is the reverse relay do?

R Bedell 04-15-2013 11:33 AM

The reverse relay is designed to kill power to the Elec PTO when the hydro lever is placed in the reverse position.

Is that relay NC or NO?

The Reverse Relay on this Tractor is Normally Open (NO).

Got a hold of a wiring diagram and found it was a bad relay. Thanks

Trying to mow with a dead battery will also cause this problem. Had it happen to me yesterday as a matter of fact!

I moved this to the GT section.:beerchug:
