Front ag tires?
Hi everyone, I have been thinking of putting ag tires on my 129. My tractor has 4.80-4x8 tires on the front, I have a set of carlisle power trac ags on my troybilt tiller That I am going to sell and I was thinking of swapping the power tracs to the front of the 129. My question is, How well do the ag tire steer in comparison to a set of knob tires? Noticebly better/worse? I have noticed some people put the ag tires on backwards when installed on the front of the tractor. What do you all think?? Oh yeah I have a line on a set of Carlisle power trac 23x8.5-12 for the rear, so I would have matching ags front and rear. Thanks

They should be mounted backwards or you will get under steer.I have a set on my loader and had to mount them backwards.

I think AG tires only belong on the front of a tractor if it is a MFD (mechanical front drive) and they look ridiculous otherwise.

Agreed they look funny and not practical on a 2x4 tractor. They came on my loader. I put X-Trac on my 1811(front) and love them in the snow and mud. My O has 400x8 ags up front and look cool. But not an every day tractor (Semi-restored). My loader will get X-Tracs soon.

I have them on my 149. I don't care what anybody says, it's my tractor. I don't think it affects the steering at all. I like the look.
