450 snowblower gearbox questions

I started cleaning and painting the 450 snowblower for my 1872 super. The blower has 2 gearboxes. 1st is what looks like a reduction box with the PTO belt pulley on it. How is this box lubricated? I see no provisions for gear oil filling and draining in this box. The 2nd is the right hand or differenttial style box for the prop and augar shafts. I take it this is the box that is lubed with the dealer plastilube stuff? Any help would be appreciated. I'll try to post some pics later.

Thanks I've got this manual. It's still a little vague. Seems to specify a small amount of grease for a box that has oil fill and drain holes on it.

Squatch - what did you end up doing???? I'm in the middle of replacing the seals and bearing in my 450 and see the manual calls for 8 oz of plastilube. (like the other CC fluids, pretty expensive:angry:) I planned on filling with a good water repellant grease from my grease gun, but now I'm hesitant. The grease that came out was pretty thick, and old!
