sleeve hitch

Hello all, I am new here and thought maybe I could get a little help. I have a 149 that I am trying to get a tiller hooked up on. I got an old sleeve hitch off of an 1810 but hits the top of the rear end housing and seems to have very little movement. Just wondering if there was two different types of wide frame sleeve hitches or have I put something on wrong. Thanks for all the help?????

Yeah, we really need some pictures.

But, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that I bet the lift bar that you are trying to use is straight and you need a curved one.
