Tiller Problem...Help
 

Hi,
Just bought a used model 21A-448-100 Cub Cadet tiller.
The previous owner supposedly rebuilt the trans and was finishing up the assembly when he had a stroke and a few months later died. So I really have no history on it other than that. It was all together except for the engine, clutch/ idler lever, belt etc...

While turning the big pulley over by hand and shifting the gears the trans seems to work fine except when I select "tine forward", then it locks up solid, pulley wont turn at all. In all other gears the wheels and tines rotate properly.

Any ideas on the cause of this?

Yeah??,.....He did something wrong.
Get a breakdown, go through it again. Atleast, that's what I'd do...You don't know if he did anything else wrong.
But, wait for someone to answer, who's actually been inside one.

I have the diagrams and the parts list printed out.
Was hoping someone had ran into the same prob before so I would know more what to look for. Anyone here been into one?
