Good uses for 55-gal plastic barrels?

I have six of these that aren't being used and I don't believe ever will be. Does anyone know anything useful they can be used for? I started cleaning up this side of my garage and they were just strewn about, so I decided to line them up where I had already cleaned until I can figure out a use... Thanks.

They make great rain barrels if they're clean.

A local guy sells them for $60 with a screen on the top, and a garden hose connection on the bottom!!

Stick it under the gutter and water your plants. My neighbor has 3 for his bonsai trees.

I use the white (translucent) ones for green houses.

Thanks guys! I was thinking about putting a raised flower bed in this area, just because I like plants and wouldn't mind growing some fresh tomatoes... Only issue is that I don't have a gutter... Though I might install one...

Can I say Niagara Falls?

A friend of mine has a pond and he used 4 of them as floats for a floating raft.

Well, I have seen some killer tall tomatoes grown from a very well thought out tomato cage made from those. Then there is no tiller mess, no weeds, and some huge tomato plants growing!

How about a large electrolysis tank to easily remove rust from all those old parts you have around? I plan to make one out of a 55 gal drum myself. Search on electrolysis to see many articles in the forum.

I thought about that, and I may do it too... I don't do a lot of restoration work, but I will be doing some this summer and winter...
