Some 782 updates

I have recently made some updates to my 782.

I got a new seat from Northern Tool. They were having a $15 off sale on them, so I picked it up for $85. I am pleased with it. It looks and feels exactly the same as a Cub seat that I paid $125 for. I also added some extra tall and soft seat bumpers too.

I put some new punched foot rests on the fenders. They are powder coated black and look very nice.

I replaced a leaking hydro valve and changed the hydro fluid and filter. The fan was busted, so I put a new one on with two new rag joints.

The big ticket items were the wheels and tires. I got all 4 wheels powder coated and went with some Tru-Powers on the rear and some Super Lugs on the front. I was able to get them online with free shipping so that helped, but man I hate the price of tires.

The paint and decals on this tractor are all original. The tractor has 800 hours on it and I think it looks pretty good. I gave the sheet metal a good washing and wax. I am on the fence right now about going all the way and repainting the tractor. There are some scrapes and scratches on it that are bothering me. I am leaning towards keeping it like it is for now. However I will be going to Red Power in June and am going to be looking at a lot of shiny red paint out there. That may change my mind.

Here are some pictures.

That tractor is GORGEOUS!!! I wouldn't repaint it....... Maybe buff it...

That looks great. I agree, don't repaint it if the original paint a decals are that nice.

Great job on the 782!:beerchug:

That's a great looking 782! I'd also keep it in original condition!

That 728 may be more valuable with the original paint and decals. It's only original once and car collectors pay more for original than restored. Enjoy it as is, take care of it, and if it gets another little scratch...no sweat.:beerchug:

Good stuff! Leave it just like it is! IMO a clean original is 1000 times better than a restoration!

Great looking 782! I agree with others, the original paint is great. It would be hard to put a more durable paint job on it than it has now.

You are lucky. Actually, you have a 784 (w/ front hydraulics). They are not that common to see.
