narrow frame brake pads.
 

I have a 122 narrow frame that I talk about more in another thread (122 tie rods) The brakes are wore out and need replaced. Where would I locate the proper pads for this. I've looked on ebay, ccspecialties, cub cadet classics and even cub cadet warehouse with no luck. Any suggestions on where to find these will be appreciated.

Drain the oil from the transaxle and then remove it from the tractor.

Remove the brake adjusting screw, pivot pin, brake lever, push rod and ball from the gear reduction housing.

Remove the front cover and large reduction gear.

Being very careful, remove the sliding brake pad cylinder from the reduction housing, and then chisel out each pad.

Get the brake pads from your local Cub Cadet dealer. As far as I know, they're the only ones who can get them.

Clean the counterbores where the pads fit into and install the new pads with contact cement, a multipurpose glue or highly adhesive glue (which are available at virtually any store) to bond the pads in place. It doesn't matter which brand to use. Virtually any industrial-strength glue will work. Then reinstall everything else in reverse order of removal.

Put everything back together in reverse order using anti-seize compound.

I didn't use anti-seize compound or glue as recomended in another post. Several bolts (at least 4) need torque.

Best thing you can do for your Cub is have the correct service/chassis manual to work on your Cub. They make the task easier to do.
