Well, I finally joined the club

Hello everyone, I'm new here to these forums but certainly not tractors. I grew up on a little 5 acre farm in the country around nothing but IH (and one lonely Ford and Wheel Horse) ranging from a handful of Cub's to an International Harvester 350 Row Crop (a rare one as I understand) to a couple Low Boy's. As I grew in age, I started doing what I had wanted to since day 1; worked on my neighbors 1600 acre farm. He's a Ford/New Holland man so they are my love for big machines but for lawn mowers/tractors, it'll always, always be IH/Cub/Cub Low Boy/Cub Cadet.

Anywho, I finally got a lawn big enough (I am only 26 after all) and got tired of push mowing it so I took the leap and bought my first Lawn Mower: a John Deere 111. I thought I had found a good deal, paid only 150 for it with one flat tire and a bad spindle bearing. $60 later and an afternoon in the shop and I had a good running little machine. And yet, after I invested hours and hours into cleaning it up, tuning, changing the oil, fixing a few gremlin problems, etc, it just didn't feel...right. It didn't feel right to have a green "machine" (and I use that term loosely :P) sitting in my shop. I decided it had to go.

So I started looking around on Craigslist and low and behold, I found myself a Cub Cadet 1330 for $300 obo. Now I know this isn't an IH built Cadet, but I would be proud to own her nonetheless. Sold my Deere for $210 (exactly what I put into her) and went to check out the Cadet. She was in great shape, fired up first crank, no smoke, everything worked, and even came with an extra set of blades and oil filter. So, I gave the guy $250, loaded her up, and went home.

Of course, I called my dad and told him and he came to check it out. The ol' man said that even though it's not a true IH, he's still proud haha

I'll post some pictures up of the ol' girl as soon as the rain here goes away and I can get it out. Anywho, hope to see y'all around! I'm here in midwest Illinois and I know the Freeport tractor show is coming up this fall so I just might take the 1330 and see what everyone else has. Have a good day, good to be on board!!

:Welcome2:
You got yourself a good LT. Bought a 1330 brand new in 1992 and installed an LT 44" deck. Still cutting lawn and doing a good job of it.
Congrats on the cub cadet 1330.:beerchug:

Well the weather finally cleared up enough to get her out and give the lawn a cut, so I snapped a few pictures while I was at it. Runs and cuts like a champ, just needs a little cleaning up and a couple touchups in a few spots, and she'll be good as new! Hope you y'all enjoy, I don't see a lot of 1330's around!

Can't wait to get the cart out and do some lawn work, then hook up to my little 5' drag and hit the new driveway, should be good times.

Get out while there's still time! :) j/k

It is habit forming though... I started with 1 cub and 1 deck... Up to 2 Cubs, 1 parts tractor, MANY eBay finds, a snow thrower, a tiller, 2 50" decks, 2 44" decks, front blade, etc, etc, etc...

Welcome to the money pit! :bash2:

No pictures on my end.
Just remember the 1330 is a lawn tractor, so don't try and use it as a garden tractor or you'll have nothing but spare parts.
