CCC built Cub Cadet 782
i just bought a cub cadet 782 from a buddy out of New York the other day.....i have a question for you all who may know, the man said it has the updated series II KT17 in it which i was happy about, but the air cleaner decal does not say series II. how can i tell if its a series II? it has a plastic oil fill cap if that helps (i think i read that early ones were metal, updated were plastic)
any help is appreciated. came with 44" deck, snow blade, ag tires and wheel weights for $250. runs and mows and looks great. has 1438 hours |
The "Spec Number" on the Engine tag will tell.
24000 to 24299 = Series I 24300 & higher = Series II |
Congrats on your 782 and attachments! You did very well.
|
one way to tell just looking at it if the blower housing on the left side has series 2 on it then it prolly is unless it was just shortblocked and they reused all the sheet metal then all bets are off
|
Congrats on the 782! Looking forward to your pics!:beer2:

Congrats on your purchase! Want your money back?

thanks ill have to check out the numbers when i get it home. even if it is the old series engine, purrs like a kitten but doesn't like to idle but that will probably be just a carb adjustment.
i had another 782 last summer i ended up selling and i regretted it so im glad i found this one. ill be picking it up next month hopefully |
Congrats!! I might be picking up a y&w 782 soon. Just wondering if there are and differences between the IH and CCC 782??? -- Thanks
|
i think the only difference is the rear end. IH ones had cast rear ends, and CCC had aluminum rears. maybe a few emblems but im not sure. either way they are a good machine
|
I have seen a lot of early ccc 782s that still had the cast rear. Also the emblems were different and I think front axle was painted black both are equil in what they are capable of. Good find and great price. I sold my ih 782 with 44 inch deck and snow blower for 900. It had the series one in it. Got any pics?
