what is it? what does it do?

Can someone tell me what this is. where it goes behind flywheel and what it does please?!!!!!!!

I am pretty sure that is a voltage rectifier and it mounts on the side of the flywheel cover. It does not mount behind the flywheel. That switches AC voltage to DC voltage.

YUP, that is what it is.

Yes it does "mount" to the fly wheel housing, but the wires connected to it run down behind the fly wheel. 2 of the 3 do any way. decided to rewire the tractor and really didn't want to pull the flywheel to just see where the wires go. I'm going to leave it alone now and keep those original wires. Thank you!!!

The 2 wires go to the stator. It provides the AC current to the rectifier which changes it to DC to charge your battery. The flywheel would have to come off to get to them. I believe they are permanently attached to the stator anyway. IMO it's best to leave them be.

This may help.......... V/R

The voltage rectifier mounts on the outside of the flywheel cover.
