New member with a problem
Hey all, just joined after searching for info on my problem. Hope I've come to the right place.
I was mowing yesterday was going well, until it wasn't. I have a CC GT1554 from about '07-'08. Still runs well, (it did until yesterday), PTO works, but the darn thing stopped moving as I was mowing. Did I maybe throw a drive belt? I know you may need more info, so ask away. Any help to steer me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Dave |
:Welcome2:
Yeah, sounds like the hydro drive belt broke. Start with that. You should be able to see it up underneath the machine. It's the belt at the top. |

I thought it might be the belt...I'll see what I can see. Is that difficult to replace? |

Well, looks like this has been getting messed up for a minute or two.:bash2:
I put the tractor up on ramps and looked at it. Found the belt partially shredded, so I tried pulling on it. My granddaughter helped me push it to the shed, and when we moved it the impeller was laying on the ground. Looks like the belt came off the pulley, rode on the impeller, partially melted it and shredded it all at the same time. This may be more fun than I thought it would be. I have the service manual, but don't know which direction to go here. Please tell me I don't need to pull the transaxle to replace the impeller (if it's even a replaceable part). |

Yes. My bad.:bash2:

You really need that fan to help cool the rear end of the machine. Definately replace it before using it again.
