Bought a Lo-Boy today

3 Attachment(s)
My dad spotted a Lo-Boy today on the way home from work. We went and looked at it and ended up giving the guy $1500 for it. It has a 59" Woods belly mover on it as well. It looks like crap, It runs good and it'll make mowing 1.5 acres a snap. I really don't know anything about the lo boys, but I believe it's a 68 based on the 250 serial number. It needs some new hydraulic seals I'm guessing based on the fluid laying on the deck. No big plans for restoration or anything. I'll probably put some seals in it and shoot it with a coat of paint, but it's a user. Any info sources you guys have would be greatly appreciated.

I thought so too. Dad and I went in $750 a piece. He always goes in half and never uses his half. He wanted me to have it is what it amounts to. His dad had a Farmall Cub when he was growing up. That might have had something to do with it.

Fresh air and mowing grass on a tractor, you'll love it. My dad has one and it's a fun little tractor. The only thing I didn't like was the PTO worked off the transmission clutch. If you get in to tall of grass you can't push in the clutch and let the mower clear. You have to stop and put it in neutral or turn the mower off back up and turn it on again. But maybe your PTO runs different. Don't let the grass get away from you and you'll be fine. Have fun and keep us posted.

Hi... I own a LoBoy 154 and love it... Yours looks like a 185 and if its operational, then that was a good price. I paid more than that for mine several years ago. Congratulations! I strongly recommend you order the Operators, Service, and Parts manuals. You can get them from www.binderbooks.com. You need all three IMHO because each has needed information not found in the others.

Nice find on the Lo-Boy!

The offset of the seat struck me as being a little odd at first. I've since learned that IH called this "Cultivision".
