782D Three point question
Quick question for the more knowledgeable people on the Cat O three points. Picked up a Cub Cadet three point to put on the 782D. I'm having an issue getting the bar that runs from the hitch to the front to line up. Correct me if I'm wrong: the lift bar goes towards the frame on the outside of the hydraulic ram yoke. The pin should come through the hole in the frame, into the lift bar, through the yoke and hydraulic cylinder, then out the other side where you cotter pin it. Anybody got any pics of the three point bar connected on the front? Also any pics of the bar itself outside of the tractor. I'll snap a couple pics on my bar tomorrow. Supposed to be the right bar. It has a couple bends, offsets to one side towards the back, and is slotted in the back. When I try to hook it up, the bar hits the frame where the tunnel cover bolts on and I can't even get the holes anywhere close to lining up. Sorry bout the rambling. TIA for any insights. :beerchug:

Some pics please...... sounds like you have a set up off a SGT. What did it come off of? ....... And better yet, why can't I get lucky enough to find a used cat 0? :bigthink: |
J-Mech,
I agree if the bar has bends its from a later model Super 3pt. The factory and aftermarket wide frame bars I believe are straight. |

These are GT lift bars that I have from an 82 series.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Todd, the pics really helped. Looks like I was given the wrong ***** bar. :bash2: Here's some pics of the bar and rear plate. I took a rear three point off an 1872 and it has a straight bar from front to back. I'll have to check the 1772's lift bar. I had assumed it was the correct bar cause it had a bend and wasn't straight. That's why it wouldn't fit. So what's this fit? Has the offset in the back, just an extra bend in the front. Oh well. Guess I'm looking for the right one. Thanks for the help guys. :beerchug:

An 1872 and a 1772 are both SGT's and the lift bar WILL NOT work on the 782D.

Jonathon,
I do realize that 1772's and 1872's are supers and super three points won't work on garden tractors. That wasn't my question. My 1772 has a three point and I took the three point off my 1872 I used to have to put on my 1572. I was just saying the 1872's three point bar was straight. I bought this setup as one to fit the 782D. The bar in question and pictured came with the setup I picked up. I had thought the regular garden tractor had a bend or two and the super bars were straight. It's my fault for not checking it before shucking out the green. |
They will work on the gt's. You just need a different lift bar. Extreme has them for like $60 if memory serves....
