My new way to fuel up
 

Since I bought the new house an getting a loboy 154 with it, I have been using both the 154 and the 147 to mow my 2 acres. It seems like every time I turn around I have to run and get 5 or 10 gallons of gas. A friend of mine has a 15 gallon fuel station in his trailer http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BJ2E7B6 and I decided it was time for me to get one. I searched and searched till i found a pretty decent deal on it. The placement was kind of an issue for me, at first I was going to hang it in my back 3 car garage (the barn) where all the mowers and atvs are. After thinking about it I decided I would rather hang it outside (because I am sure it will drip gas right after filling it, and I go out of my way to have the bar not smell of gas). If it is gonna hang outside, it needs to be out of the weather. I try to not cut any corners and make things as nice as reasonably possible, so I made a nice hanging enclosure that matches the barn. I wanted to keep the hose out of the sun as much as possible, and be able to let any gas that may drip out of the nozzle after filling up fall on the ground and not onto the shelf so I made another shelf below the main one to store the hose out of the sun.

I do not want to put doors in it if I can help it. I built it so that there are no horizontal ledges except for the main shelf. If birds become a problem then I will build doors.

That is nice! Thanks for showing us.

Looks great and a really neat idea! Instead of building doors, just buy an inflatable or statue of an owl.

Ya that's the only downside. It holds 15 gallons, and is 6 1/2 ft in the air. I took it to the gas station in the back of my truck. The tank when full weighs about 140-150 lbs. I filled it the first time today and I just picked it up and set it in there. It's a bit heavy, but I am strong like bull... Haha

That's not too bad then, plus I'm sure it lasts a while with how gas hungry our little cubs are :biggrin2:

Cool, I like that. I have a 15 gallon jug for diesel but this is way nicer. I have to use an electric fuel pump but it's slow.

Now you need a loader to lift the tank in place:bigthink:

Yeah sometimes I feel like I need a fuel truck to follow my 147 around the yard. Speaking of fuel trucks, could you get someone to deliver fuel to fill it, or wouldn't it be worth it?
