3 point hitch
 

I have an 882d and would LOVE to get a 3 point hitch on the back so i can plow with it. Right now it is bare/bone stock with nothing on the back so i would be starting from scratch. I have a few questions about the cubs and the 3 points that go with them. (1)Should i be concerned about plowing with a hydro rear end compared to a gear drive? (2)Where can i get a 3 point hitch and all the extras needed for the installation? (3) Are there any manuals to help in the guidance of installation? (4) What exactly is the CAT-0 or CAT-1 3 point hitch's? (5) does anyone have a 3 point hitch for sale and would be willing to ship? I know there are a lot of questions here but I am very new to the plowing aspect with a garden tractor. I a couple Sears GT's but those 3 points are a lot diff in installation, setup, and overall use from what i can tell when looking at the ones here on the cubs. Thanks in advance!!

1) No. Just make sure that the rearend is clean, cooling fan intact, and mounting bolts tight, as the ones on the aluminum rear like to work loose.
2) If you have the money, xtrememotorworks has an aftermarket one. You can also put a want ad in the forum classifieds, search ebay, etc...They show up cheaper once in awhile. I bought one for my 782D for $375.
3) There are installation instructions that came with the hitch when it was bought from the dealer. I know that the cyclops series service manual also has the instructions. Actually, I think my MTD 82 series manual has it,too. I'm sure Roland or Myron would have a pdf copy of the instructions.
