Hello and thanks to all on this forum. You have unknowingly helped a lot on my 1450. Picked it up about a month ago, it's the second IH Cub I've had. It has a 44c deck that needs a lot of work! Lol. But that's part of it. I would love to find a 44a in good shape. I love this machine. I wanted something that was built to last and I think this will last me a long time. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions and I'll try to answer some and help where I can. Thanks again!

you can convert your 44C to a 44A with a new center pulley. I did that, works fine. (I think that's the only difference)

This is a very nice looking 1450.

My 44-A deck has skids in the front, and the deck in your picture shows guide wheels. Were it me, I would take guide wheels anytime. I would consider changing the center shieve and belt, and rebuilding the spindles.

Quietlines are great tractors! :IH Trusted Hand:

Hello and welcome! Good looking 1450! Guess it the deck is totally shot you could put the guide wheels on a 44a? Just weld them on. I have a 44a and would rather have the guide wheels myself.

That is a nice looking old tractor! I acquired one in a trade this summer and plan to pull the motor and put it in a 1000 rolling chassis for pulling once it runs. The man I got it from said he ran his tiller on it for years and it was always reliable! Best of luck!

Nice 1450!

I grew up on one of those! Dad bought it in 1978...It has been in continuous use since then...

We still mow and garden with it! what else holds up like that anymore!?

You will enjoy yours

Jay
