Cylinder head temp?
Guys,
My K341 I was working pretty hard in really deep grass on a hot day. It stalled and wouldn't re-start till it cooled off. The only thing I can think of is cylinder wall to piston clearance with the aftermarket piston is too tight or ..it's overheating. It doesn't seem to be running lean- maybe I should enrich-en the fuel mixture a 1/4 turn just to be safe. Don't want to be too rich either.. I was wondering what type of head temp I should see on a 100F day w/ heavy load?? I've got an IR thermometer. Michael |
It could be the dreaded exhaust valve sticking or stuck. Do you run MMO in the oil.
|
that would be my guess. if the piston was scuffing the wall you would have some other issues
|
Yes I run MMO. Only way to know is tear it back apart. Runs good.

New factory valves. New,guides reamed to fit.
|
Did you check spark? Intermittent coil failure is notoriously temperature dependent.
|
engine no-start I mean- starter won't turn it over. Like it's seized.

that's not a good thing, might want to open it up
