Cylinder head temp?

Guys,

My K341 I was working pretty hard in really deep grass on a hot day. It stalled and wouldn't re-start till it cooled off. The only thing I can think of is cylinder wall to piston clearance with the aftermarket piston is too tight or ..it's overheating. It doesn't seem to be running lean- maybe I should enrich-en the fuel mixture a 1/4 turn just to be safe. Don't want to be too rich either..

I was wondering what type of head temp I should see on a 100F day w/ heavy load?? I've got an IR thermometer.

It could be the dreaded exhaust valve sticking or stuck. Do you run MMO in the oil.

that would be my guess. if the piston was scuffing the wall you would have some other issues

Yes I run MMO. Only way to know is tear it back apart. Runs good.

New factory valves. New,guides reamed to fit.

Did you check spark? Intermittent coil failure is notoriously temperature dependent.

engine no-start I mean- starter won't turn it over. Like it's seized.
