75 lb rear wheel weights
I given a set of 75 lb rear wheel weights for my 782. From my dealer days, I recognize them as the add-on package 190-370-100. But I need to know the size of hardware that goes along with them as I will need to acquire it. Size of carriage bolt, or better option, 2 or 4 per wheel, lock nut or washer lock washer and regular nut combo. I have never had wheel weights and would appreciate any suggestions from those who have them and the best material to use and such.
Thanks! |
You will have to measure to make sure, but IIRC, I used 1/2" x 6" carriage bolts, two per wheel.

With IH wheel weights on the inside, and Heavy Sears on the outside I used 4 carriage bolts. I don't plan to monkey around with a huge wheel weight job unless the seals go, or something.

I got rid of my 75lb weights and had to cut the bolts for use with the 26 lb weights, so i can't measure the bolts, but i think the carriage bolts were 9 or 10 inches long. Two bolts per wheel will work fine, but when i used 2 bolts per wheel i noticed the squares on the carriage bolts the sits in the rim were wearing, so i went to 4 bolts per wheel. You also want to pick up good thick washers. I used washer lock washer nut on mine. This was for the black plastic cement filled cub cadet labeled weights.

Tommy, It sounds like you have exactly what I do. I appreciate the feedback from you all. Thanks!
