Where can I get spiral pins?
Anyone have a good source for spiral pins? I need one for my qa-42a, but neither my local NAPA or hardware stores carry them.

Do you have an Ace or True Value, maybe a Menards near by? They should all have them, I get all mine at True Value. :beerchug:

I buy mine at the local hardware store that used to be an Ace. They are in the Hillman parts section along with keystock and rod ends.

Every time one of you guys posts a mcmaster-carr part number, I go there, buy some of them, and find about $100 of other stuff I need. Just reading this forum is getting expensive!

Thanks guys! I had high hopes but my local mom & pop stores only carried standard roll pins. I do have a true value that's not too far out of the way, I'll try them too. If I have no luck there I'll go to Mcmaster.
For now, I'm going to use a hardened spring steel roll pin that I bought at the last hardware store I went to. I couldn't help it, the little old man looked around for one for at least 15 minutes for me, and could only find that. I felt I at least owed it to him for his time. it only has to last the winter, planning to refurb the thrower in the spring anyways. |
