Well I am a new owner of a 129, not new to Internationals though, have had my share of Scouts and still have one. Always wanted a Cub but never really had a use for it, now we bought new place with 2 acres. I have watched for them in the past but not very many for sale in my area, so when I saw this one I jumped on it. Bought it from the original owner who bought it just to till his garden, never had a mower deck on it. Tiller is the 1A with both side extensions and is in great shape despite the lack of paint on it. Tractor is in great shape and runs great. Other than maintenance the PO put a new tire on front and recovered the seat, otherwise all original. Have looked around this site a little (its great by the way) but have much research to do yet. Would like to find a mower deck for it, not sure which ones will fit, assuming any of the wide frame ones, would like to get a spring assist for the lift, assuming it does not have one cause it takes a little elbow grease to move the tiller up and down, not sure if the hydro or electric lift is an option for this model. Come spring time I will go through and change fluids and such. Anyways glad to share with you all and hope to learn and contribute in the future. Anybody have any recommendations or suggestions for this model please let me know. Thanks, Clint

Luckily my little lap top is easy to spin around :) that is one clean tractor!
Makes the 86, from the same series, that I just got look rough. You have a nice machine. Should be able to find the mule drive and mower deck pretty easy for this too. If they bought the tractor and the tiller at the same time they did not take as good of care of the tiller. Glad the tractor was preserved.

Lift assist spring will help you quite a bit. They offered electric lifts but they are few and far between and hydro lift could be added with some more work.

Thanks! What is exactly the mule drive? One other question I had was on the dash, what went to the right of the ammeter, there is just an empty hole there. Is there a specific spring assist I need for this model or are they universal. Thanks! I am stoked to have this cub, I have to keep it away from my scout cause I know these internationals like to multiply :beerchug:

The mule drive is the bracket on the front of the cub where the belt comes off the pto clutch and goes around 2 pulleys. The undercarriage hooks to it when mounting the deck. The hole to the right should have a chrome plug in it. That is where the electric switch would have been located if it was equipped with electric lift.

Welcome to our site. Really nice find on that 129. You are right about these units multiplying. I used to have one now I have 7 and counting. Cubcrazy already mentioned about the mule drive. Mower decks do not attach directly to the tractor. A mule drive is attached to the tractor and the mower deck is attached to the mule drive. I have a 149 that I must get busy on and it is in the same series as your 129.

So the bracket with pulleys I have on there now for the tiller is specific for the tiller, so that one will come off and the mule drive will hook on there and then hook to mower. I see where it looks like it is kind of a quick attach. Are the mule drives universal or model specific? There is so many options and attachments for these cubs I am still trying to figure out what parts are for what models. Thanks, Clint

I that the tractor from craigslist over there in the Miller / Highmore area? I was looking at that but just too sick to chase it. What part of SD you from?

Yeah I got it over at Miller. I am from Chamberlain. I see they have the red power roundup in Huron this year, will have to try and make it. Clint
