450 blower seems slow
have a 450 on my 782d and it only throws light fluffy snow about 10 foot does this seem rite? it came off a super im guessing because it had the extra peices bolted on that i took off... did the supers have a different size engine pully than my smoker? like i said it seems like it isnt turning fast enuff

In light fluffy snow, yes. Are you sure it is a 450 and not a 451?
|
j-mech im pretty sure its a 450 tag is fubar but looks exactly like everything in the 450 manual... thanks for the reply tho

The 450 and 451 are identical, except for the gearbox ratio. You can't tell just by looking at it.

Gt do a search of recent threads under 450/451 snowblowers in this section, I had the same questions that were answered to determine an unknown unit.

its too cold to go outside now and count turns but it sounds like a 6 inch pto was used with a 451 and a 4 inch pto was used with a 450? so it is possible mine might not be turning fast enuff... im pretty sure my pto is 4 inch.. traded a beat up qa42 for this one maybe didnt get such a great deal. wish i could find a plow close by i think snow removal would be faster with one of them.... but then again that does reduce seat time dont it.... wife dont understand how you can be covered with snow head to toe and still be grinnin.... she thinks im retarded i think shes missin out
|
Your correct on the pto size and typically you'll find the 451 to be factory yellow although there's always an odd duck out there but you should check the pulley and impeller ratio to better understand what you have.
