Not only can it be done I have done it with front tires, rear tires and trailer tires. I just hate to go to use a tractor and a tire or tires are flat. They make tubes of all sizes, just get a tube that is designed to fit your tire.

Tubes will certainly do the job but so will the black slop they sell to put on the sides of the tire and wheel. I have rebuilt about 8 John Deere's and they all have had some tire leakage. I did the tube trick on the first several and then I found tire this tire sealer for tubeless tires and it worked great. Of course you also need to replace the old valve stems which are about $2 a set.
The bad news is that you have to do just about the same amount of work by breaking the bead on both sides and pulling out the old stem. But it is a heck of a lot cheaper! One caveat, that is if the inside of your wheels are in bad rough shape just go with the tubes. BTW, I have changed the tires on all of the small CC's and JD's and let me tell you it is not worth it for the rears. I took my last set to the neighborhood tire man who did both of the rears for $5 each. I was like a skinny man dancing with a fat woman trying to re-seat that bead! He did it in less than 10 seconds!

I Slimed all 4 tires on the 1811 and the only one it didn't fix was the LR that my Dad backed into the bale spike! It has a plug right in the sidewall :bash2:

Thanks for the replies and welcomes.
I have been a long time cub fan. I had a 108 years ago and loved it
