Death of the QA36

I guess it's age, the amount of snow this winter and my abusing it were just too much. After that mount pin broke off, I did an evaluation of it and it would take a few bucks to bring it back up to snuff.

Sad because I just fabbed up a snazzy new pair of shoes for her.

So I checked CL, and found a H42, he wanted $325.00, we agreed on $290.00 after I discovered the shear pin was gone.
So the 782 has a new front end!

MWShaw 02-07-2014 06:50 PM

$75.00 too much?

You bought another blower because a mounting pin broke off?.......:bigthink:

If I could get to Michigan I'd pick it up!

Well, the QA36 was getting well worn, that and it has always been a tad too small for the 782. The H42 was made for my 782.

ok well I have a question. I have a qa36 and it fits my 71. are those made to fit both wide and narrow frame tractors

MWShaw 02-07-2014 08:43 PM

Yes, the width is adjustable.

what city are you in so I can get with Fastenal for a shipping quote? I guess I should ask if you would be willing to run it over to the nearest Fastenal store and drop it on a pallet.

Flint Mich. Yeah, to keep from scrapping it, I'd love to see it stay in the Cub Cadet family.

So it is a QA36A? Not a bad price. The last snowthrower that I bought from the Michigan area in similar condition, I paid $14 for, but shipping was around $90 (Holland was the name of the freight co.....I think). Fastenal will be much more economical for shipping, so it should be a real nice deal for both of you!! Looks ideal for clearing sidewalks. Glad to hear that you are saving it to a good home.
