Ag tires for my 1650

You'll have to forgive the question. I did a search and didn't turn up much.

Has anybody tried the Duro Ag Bar Lugs? I just saw 23X1050X12s 4-ply for $57 on smalltires.com. That makes them almost $30 cheaper than comparable Carlisles. I love cheaper, but as a gubment worker, I'm always wary of the lowest bidder.

I have also been looking at the Carlisle 6-ply at $103, but not sure I really need the 6-ply rating. Anybody have horror stories about 4-ply tires? I plan on running at least 100# of wheel weights and windshield washer fluid in tubes. Mostly for lawn work, but some snow plowing, garden plowing, later on a front loader, box blade, etc, etc.

I've been running rear Deestone import lugs for about 3 years on the 782 and they still look new. They're 4 ply. I have wheel weights and the tires filled. I'd rather spend my money on something else than the overpriced carlisles.

I've been trying to figure out why this thread got relegated to the "off-topic-General Talk" section. Sure didn't help me get the info I was looking for on the ag tires.

I'm with you on this. If you ask me tires certainly are part of a tractor so I would think it could be in the tractor forum. I have had the same problem. Once it gets moved it usually is done. But what do I know?:TwoCents:

Guys,

You're discussing ag tires, not Cub Cadets.

Oh ya I forgot but I bought a set of Deestone ag's off Ebay that are 6ply for $110 with shipping. I think the guy still sells them on there. I would give you a link but it would just get blocked out so you will have to do the leg work. There awesome tires and you can't beat the price.
