K161
What spec # would a k 161 with the 2 7/8 bore be?
It has a 2 piece cam in it. |
What are you looking for Lew?
Near as I can tell, the spec #'s started at 2801. The piston part numbers sub to the new number for the larger bore if you use 2801 as the spec #. Does that help? |
Jonathan,
Spec # is 281033h.This was in a 70 but it has 4 holes threaded in the block on the pto end ,so I am thinking it is not a cub block, but it was fine in the 70.PTO and the crank dia were the same. This was already bored out .030 I thought the early blocks were able to be bored to the newer 2 15/16 bore which is STD.Seems like a lot of meat left to bore it larger |
Near as I can tell by the parts book, the old motors can be bored to the 2 15/16", then over-sized to .030" All old piston part numbers sub to the new "standard" sizes and are available to .030" oversized. No notes saying that they can't be...... :bigthink: So I'd say you are correct.

Thanks for the info, thought it was able to be bored larger,so just another block to hang onto.
