Converting 1250 to hydraulic lift

I have (2) 1250's. One of them has hydraulic lift (non-running) and the other tractor (running) does not. I plan to change the running 1250 over to hydraulic lift.

Question is: Do I switch whole rear ends or can I just unbolt the ported portion of the hydraulic lift equipped rear end and bolt it up to my other 1250?

Would it not be easier to just swap engines???

I was thinking the same thing, but there is no mention of condition issues.

It's probably easier to switch the whole thing as opposed to changing pumps.

it can be done. I converted my 1250 to hydro lift and was not that big of a deal. Change pump, remove lift arm and install the small lever to operate a plow, add the upper valve plus the hydro handle-don't forget the bushing for that, hoses, cylinder, frame mount for the cylinder and maybe thats it. Probably easier to switch the motor if the rest of the tractor is good!!

Buy a 1450? Easy way out and you have another toy...

Switching engines is easier but if the donor is in bad shape. I would change just the pump. But pulling both rears to do the work is easier to do out of the tractors. Remember to change the cork gasket!

I swapped the hydro when I did mine but I didn't have a donor tractor, just the parts.
