Let there be light..

I am putting lights on my 100 and had a few hopefully simple questions...

What gauge wire should it be, I thought 14 GA but it looked smaller than what as on it. Also, was the original kit wire yellow? What size fuse is used for the lights?

And finally... I have a spring assist on the left side; it appears to be in the way of properly mounting the Grote light, any suggestions or pictures keeping it as "original" as possible?

Thanks,

I'm not sure if the wire was yellow, but I think that's correct. As for 14g, that's fine. Your lamps are 35w each, or 3 amps each at 12v. A total of 6 amps. 14g wire is good for up to 15 amps. Lengths are short enough that voltage drop is not a concern, so you are fine with the 14g wire.

not sure about the grote light mounting...

Thanks for the reply.

I went with the 14g and "winged it" on mounting the rear light, used a fender mounting bolt on the vertical part to attach the bracket. Looks like it belongs there and as long as it gets a good ground, I should be good to go. I need to pick up a connector on the way home and there will be light!

Thanks,
