Have the parts for the breather valve changed? Sure look different than what I pulled off.

To elaborate I would like to say that if you look at the schematics and then order and get the pictured part you get worried. It seems to work even though it looks totally different. I had to pull the bottom most gasket off as it had NEVER seemingly been pulled. Such a tight spot for this minor surgery. Any who, what would yall think would be a proper sealant for said gasket or do I even need one. Seems a toss.

As long as everything is clean, no sealant necessary.

YES, they have changed the design to a new and improved breather.

Thats a relief. Now on to the next thing. There seems to always be a next thing.

Since I was old enough to know what a sealer was I have always used the old brown Permatex when in doubt. It is not a critical substance and it will not harden nor does it require timing like the silicone sealers do. It is similar to the old pipe dope plumbers use even today. you can put some on the tip of your finger and smear it along the sealed edge and it will do its job. I do not know of any interaction with any other product so you can use it with impunity. And if no sealer was needed, then you didn't create any new problems by using it. But if it stops one little oil leak after you have put it all back together then you are way ahead.:beerchug:
