Newer Cub Cadet's
 

I know most of this forum is about Older Cadet's, So I hope it is O.K. to start A Thread for newer Cadet's. This is my 2004 LT-1018, I got it in a Divorce sale for $ 100.oo Bucks, And it only has 84 Hrs on it, and runs and looks Brand New, http://i50.tinypic.com/r6wuhu.jpg

dgb: Remember there's Cub Cadets and there's Cub Cadets... IH made Garden Tractors with the Cub Cadet name. IH also made Lawn Tractors but they were called Cadets. After IH sold the Outdoor Products division to MTD/CCC, the company name changed to the Cub Cadet Corporation and everything they make now uses that brand name. This also includes the one you got... It's a Lawn Tractor (LT) and not a Garden Tractor. The 1000 series are usually sold at the big box stores. Even the 2000 Series are only Lawn Tractors!! To get a genuine Cub Cadet Garden Tractor, you have to go to a full line Cub Cadet Dealer (not a box store) and get a 2500, 3000, 4000 series up, etc....

Having said all that, new Cub Cadet LT's like yours perform very well at mowing, which is what they are designed to do and you will probably like it for that purpose..

Hi Sergeant Major Bounds: Thanks for Enlighten Me on Cub Cadet's, I didn't buy the LT to use as a Tractor, for I have a Few other things I use as Tractors, I Bought it because it was a good Deal, and I could add it to my Collection with out going through a Divorce over it, Here is a few of my other Toys

I didn't know much about Cub Cadets before I got this one,
But after calling and talking to the Sergeant major I know a lot more,
and I now want one of the Older one's, or get the Trans & rear end and make something out of it, Like make the frame and put something like a small Jeep Body on it, I think that would me a neat thing to do. and if I make the body my self I will make it all out of 304 Stainless steel, it will never need paint and will never rust. Now I just need to find the time to do all of this,
and get permission from my Wife. Like Thats going to Be A Problem. Ha Ha
