2072 over rev'ing
 

My 2072 "seems" like it is running too fast. I'm not sure what 3600 rpm's sounds like. What kind of tach do I need and how do I check it?

I've been wanting to check rpm on a few different engines I have. I haven't got around to getting one yet but Harbor Freight has a couple diagnostic tachometers (links below). One is contact the other is non contact. Also some multimeters have an engine RPM function.
