Tilled my garden
3 Attachment(s)
I tilled my garden with the 400 tiller last week for the first time. I got it done before the 3 days of rain and am finally getting the pics posted. Thanks to Jonathon, Lew, and everyone for their input and Sam mac for a new part it worked Awesome! I didn't get any action shots of me tilling (I told Mrs. Berwil it wouldn't take long, and she missed it).
This is kind of an action shot, I took it as I was tilling. I was taking a second deeper pass since I was breaking sod on the right side of the pic. Never had anything turn grass under so well! Attachment 51044 Attachment 51045 I need to make sure my garlic and onions are in a corner next year so I can take long passes with the tiller in one direction. Attachment 51046 Bill |
Nice setup, looks like it did a great job! :beerchug:

Can you post some more pics of that tiller? I'm wondering if I can convert a 1A to a self powered tiller so I'd like to see how the drive is setup. Glad the mag worked out for you. Sam |
Looks good bill.:beer2:

Thanks guys!
Here you are Mr. Mac, I took the belt gaurd off for visability. Attachment 51073 There is a plate bolted to the tiller that the engine is mounted on. Sorry, I still haven't washed it. :bash2: Priorites as my wife would say. Attachment 51078 Here is the belt engaged Attachment 51074 Belt Disengaged Attachment 51075 There is a plate that bolts to the engine and holds the idler pulleys that also bolts to the rear "tower". Attachment 51077 Want any other specific pics, let me know. Bill |

Thanks for the pics of your tiller. Looks like a 1A could be converted to self power, that's why they make welders. I'll probably leave my tiller alone for now but if the gear box craps out then I'll look at the conversion. Got my oldie working decent. Wish the soil here was as nice as what you have. :beerchug: |

Your welcome Sam, if the time comes and you need more info just give me a shout. You'll have the baddest 1A out there! I've been following your tiller repair thread, great work as always. I got a use for your old tines, they make great penguin flippers. :biggrin2:
Attachment 52229 As for my soil....didn't always look like that. A big pile of rocks came out (and is still growing), and a lot of compost went in. Bill |
Pretty cool Bill!:beerchug:
