Is it getting a little out of hand?

I'm always perusing the classified looking for a deal on anything.
Ever since I picked up my first cub I keep a keen eye out for them.
For the past 6 months I've noticed the prices steadily rising on these gems.

But at this point I think we've hit the ridiculous mark.

Just today I can search the PA,NJ,DE area for cubs and find at least 3 listings for narrow frames going for 2k!
Now some do include implements but other don't even have a deck?

Any one else seeing this trend?

Welcome to the addiction......:beerchug:

I can look in CL up here and everything is crazy high for what it is, look in another state, and for the same condition or better they list for 1/2 the price. It sucks bigtime, but I guess that happens when people know ( or don't) what they have......

Price also depends on the location of the item.

The other thing that makes it bad is it only takes one. Then someone goes "oh I have one of those, and if he is asking "X", I should be able to get this for it"...

people who are pulling these things out and are trying to sell them have probably done a quick search on ebay and took the highest price they saw and are thinking "I have gold. Its better than the one listed for $xxx. So I will charge more." and start out at the high price being the neophite that they are, and causing the huge price surge. Personally I say not to worry. Soon the price will come crashing down like in the housing market. Price correction will happen when they get the hint that the Cub they have isn't wort nearly as much as the think it is.

Just because people list stuff for crazy prices doesn't mean they're actually selling them. I've seen things priced like that stay on craigslist for months.

I have been seeing a new one around here. They run ads saying "paying cash for your old riders and attachments" or "paying cash for your unwanted cub cadet". People are stockpiling them, driving the prices up.

If I could get that kind of money out of all of mine I could retire, and live a lifestyle that I wouldn't NEED any Cub Cadets.

I'm glad that I don't live up north like you guys cubs are pretty cheap around here
